This blog post links to 15 Portuguese Tapas recipes to try at home. We have recently visited Porto in Portugal several times. We were amazed at the variation of tapas (petiscos) available in the bars and restaurants around the city.

This inspired me to put together some quick and easy tapas recipes that you can make yourself at home.

Tapas

Portuguese tapas are a delicious way to enjoy a variety of small dishes at once. These bite-sized snacks are perfect for sharing with friends and family, or simply to enjoy as a solo snack.

Tapas originated in Spain, and Portugal has taken the concept and made it their own.

Many Portuguese tapas feature seafood, given the country’s access to the Atlantic, which makes them especially tasty.

But there are plenty of other options, like chorizo, cured ham, cheese, olives, and empadas (savoury pastries filled with meats, cheeses, and vegetables). These you can combine on a platter and serve up to share.

Portuguese tapas make for a great snack, appetizer, or full meal, and are sure to tantalize your taste buds!
